Hoot Hoot... Owls

I found these sweet owl pin cushions on DIYdish.com and made a bunch of them. They were so easy to make, and came out so cute. You can download the pattern on their website, but the directions aren't very clear, so you need to watch the video too.
The little green one is the size the pattern made. I enlarged the pattern and made the big ones.

A great project for your scrap fabrics. I filled mine with rice and stuffing.

Great Finds.. but now I need some ideas.

So this morning I was trolling around my local Salvation Army store (it's what I like to do on Monday) and I feel like I hit the jackpot.
I've been looking for something to store CD's on for months and haven't found anything I like.... until today! I was thinking about painting it an antique white, but my BFF Erin thinks I should leave it black, now I'm torn.
I'm also always on the hunt for used terracotta pots for my pond landscaping... found terracotta and a green one and a pretty white one!
AND I found this UGLY dart board cabinet (cock and fox) that I see wonderful opportunity for.

Behold... my $30 haul.

Pots and cool (ugly) candle stick thingy that will look good as a pond accent.
And the super ugly table that I think will just stay ugly under a table cloth in Savanna's room. She's been needing a table just this size for her TV.

I'm seeing chalkboard paint, cute cabinet knobs... lots of possibility.

Any inspired ideas you have with my haul would be appreciated. I am full of fear, yet so excited to spruce all this up... I need suggestions.

Grandparent Book

I made this mini accordion Scrapbook that shows my Mother and her parents on one side, and my Father and his parents on the other side. It ties closed with ribbon, and has a metal framed picture of my Grandparents on each cover.
I made one for myself and one for my sister. My hope is that they will end up as great reminders of our wonderful family history.

This is the card I made for the Pink Stamper Blog Hop.
It had to have a "spring" theme. With my least favorite day of the year knocking on my door I thought a spring forward card would be appropriate.
I really like the way the card turned out, but I still don't like springing forward!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Studio J digital scrapbooking!
I needed to get some pages done fast.... but I really didn't have a lot of time to spend in my craftroom this week. Soooo I sat in my bed late one night and created the below pages.
Imagine... Scrapbooking in bed, (while my husband slept) creating 6 two page layouts, with no mess and no clean up!

I always save jars and pretty bottles... and it runs in the family.

So I was able to "shop" in my closet of shame and find this nice large jar and just the right shade of pink paint.I poured a good amount of paint into the jar and swirled it around until the inside of the jar was covered. It was messy... yikes!
While it sat and dripped I used my Cricut to cut out the black vinyl word, using my Home Accents cartage. I covered the lid with Close To My Hart paper from the Sweetheart paper pack #x7134B and hot glued ribbon to the lid. The whole thing took me about 30 minutes to make. The jar is now sitting by an open window so the paint will finish drying.

Scott's Studio

I thought I'd post something about my wonderful "sorta crafty" husband.
Scott has converted our old mini dairy goat barn into his "shop" or what I like to refer to as his STUDIO.
He has been on a birdhouse making kick. For Christmas he made me a few birdhouses and some feeders that I love. He knows how to make me happy! I'm a backyard bird watcher and
we've been working on our backyard for a couple of years trying to create a bird haven. Last summer we really got to enjoy all our hard work with a beautiful yard full of birds. I think sitting on my back porch watching the world go by is the one thing I miss about summer.


Early this morning, when it was just breezy and not full on windy Scott and I went out and cleaned out all the nesting boxes along our fence line. Last year we waited to long and birds were already nesting in them... so we were sure to get out early this spring and dump out all the old nests so they can start this year with clean houses. I never think we have to many bird houses until it's time for spring cleaning. We really have a LOT!
The picture below will give you an idea of our nesting box fence line. Notice Gabby patrolling the boarder.
The rest of the day Scott has big plans of making some bluebird houses (we've both seen a few Rocky Mountain Bluebirds already this spring) and a bunch of nesting shelves for birds that don't like a house to put under the veranda.

You know he's in his studio when you can hear the sound of music mixed with power tools.

Cute license plate birdhouses he made last spring. I got him dozens of plates from all over from work. He's thinking about selling these house.

The barn isn't decorated with hanging flowers, we just store them in there in the winter.
I'm so happy he has his own studio, I could NEVER work in those messy conditions!

Great Find

I went to Goodwill in search of some craftroom goodies. I found this great hutch (one just like I had as a little girl on my desk that matched my canopy bed). I knew it would be perfect for what I needed. With a lot of muscle to get it in and out of the back of my truck and then hauling it into the house I got it up on my "slab" and it looks perfect and still leaves me with lots of work space.
